Who we are

Smoothgrain Studios LLC operates this site under the brand tare. We are based in Oregon. You can reach us at hello@tare.now.

What we collect

When you join the early-access list

The form on this site asks for your email and business name (required) and your role, current point-of-sale system, and free-form notes (optional). You decide what to put in those fields. We use that information only to reply to you and to gauge interest from Oregon operators.

When you visit any page

We log basic visit data through three services running on our hosting platform: page views, referring URL, browser type, approximate region, and whether the page loaded quickly. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or session replay. We do not buy or sell visitor data.

Where the data goes

We use a small number of service providers. None of them are advertising networks.

Vercel

Hosts the site. Receives standard web request logs (IP address, user agent, path) and aggregated pageview and performance data via Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Verifies that early-access form submissions come from a human, not a bot. Cloudflare may see your IP address and a small amount of browser context for the verification. We do not see this directly.

Resend

Delivers the contents of your early-access submission to our internal inbox as an email. The fields you submitted pass through Resend's transactional email infrastructure.

Sentry

Receives errors that occur on the site so we can fix them. Errors include browser type, URL, and stack trace; they may include your IP address. We do not capture page content or form contents in error reports.

PostHog

Receives anonymous pageview events. Visitor profiles are kept anonymous unless you explicitly identify yourself, which this site does not currently do.

How long we keep it

Early-access submissions stay in our internal email inbox until the product launches or until you ask us to remove them. Server logs and analytics events are retained according to each provider's standard retention; we do not extend them. Anonymous pageview data is aggregated over time and is not associated with you.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@tare.now and we will respond within a reasonable time. We do not sell personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.

If you live in California, Oregon, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, those rights apply to you regardless of what this page says, and we will honor them.

Children

This site discusses commercial cannabis software, which is regulated for adults aged 21 and older in Oregon. The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date at the top of the page and, where appropriate, contact people on the early-access list directly.
